COVID-19 pandemic is more than just a struggle against a highly contagious virus, it’s also a serious threat to everyone’s mental health. The physical isolation came with a heavy consequence on many individuals’ mental health.
According to a health tracking poll, many individuals experienced mental health problems due to worry and stress over the pandemic. In fact, 41% of adults reported symptoms of anxiety and/or depressive disorder at the beginning of 2021. For survivors of child abuse, this experience can be more profound, especially when they’re disconnected from places and people that have previously given them comfort and safety.
Let’s be aware of the posts we share on social media, when posting something think of everyone who faces depression/anxiety, low self-esteem issues and more… it may not be you, or a close family member, but it may be someone who deserves to feel included and not excluded just because they’re not yet in the place you think everyone should be at. If we include them now believe me that we’ll get them to one day succeed like you and as many others are succeeding right now!
